RSPB Middleton (Staffs) - Bittern again late afternoon on Reedbed Pool in reed edge to the West of river (East) screen (A Johnson). GREEN-WINGED TEAL present early morning and also on Jubilee Wetlands Avocets, Black-Tailed Godwits and Dunlin (RSPB).
Alvecote - 3 Little Egret, 2m Goosander and 5 Shelduck (M Scott).

Green-Winged Teal still on the south side of Jubilee Wetlands tonight and best viewed from between the two screens. An early report this morning suggested two birds. If anyone has any pictures of both birds then please submit them to the Staffs County recorder to substantiate what would be a very rare occurrence.

Avocets increased to 3 (T Perrins). Red Kite over Jubilee Wetlands this afternoon and headed towards Tamworth (M Priest).

RSPB Middleton (Staffs) - 2 Dunlin, Ruff, 2 Ringed Plover, Little Ringed Plover, 3 Redshank, Common Gull, 3 (2m) Pintail [Jubilee Wetlands] and 6 mobile Oystercatcher. In addition (J&P Fincham) Mediterranean Gull to the left of the "Lookout". This bird is unringed so not the KWP bird. Also Peregrine flew through and then landed in the middle of Jubilee.

20th March

With the temporary flow control in place it's like the plug has been pulled on Jubilee Wetlands. Could be good this week for waders if temperatures increase, water levels are kept low and there is a bit of bird movement.

RSPB Middleton (Staffs) - This Morning  Firecrest - 120m South of  the 2 benches in riverside trees, 2 Oystercatcher, 2 Egyptian Geese, drake Pintail  [Jubilee Wetlands] (J&P Fincham). This Evening Great White Egret, 3 (2m&f) Pintail, 2 Goldeneye [Jubilee Wetlands] 15 Goosander, single Golden Plover with 20 Lapwing which were later joined by the 3 Ruff from Tamworth at 4:56pm [North Pit].
Dosthill NR - 3 Goldeneye.
Dosthill Lake (Waterski Pools) - 22 Oystercatcher roosted on the first jetty. Also 14 Goldeneye.
