Riverside Egret roost - 2 Great Egrets and 43 Little Egrets.

28th September

RSPB Middleton (Staffs) - 6 Goosander [River] (D Corfield), 15 Golden Plover (P Morgan), Great Egret, 2 Pintail [Jubilee South], 6 Egyptian Geese, Green Sandpiper, Peregrine [Jubilee North], 2 Stonechat [West Side] (many Obs). Late afternoon Golden Plovers had increased to 16, Ringed Plover, Greenshank heard & Goosander on the river (S Atkinson).

RSPB Middleton (Staffs) - Greenshank (heard only on Jubilee),  Spotted Flycatcher [Canal Hedge near West Screen] (D Corfield) - also Pied Flycatcher reported from same location. Can anyone confirm. Great Egret, Pintail, 6 Egyptian Geese, Peregrine [Jubilee Wetlands], Hobby [Dosthill NR]. Cormorant with yellow coded ring (ZF3) on JW North - looks like it was ringed at Rutland Water.

RSPB Middleton (Staffs) - CATTLE EGRET attempted to land with the Longhorn but simultaneously the majority of wildfowl flushed and Egret headed South West in the direction of Middleton Hall. Also on the reserve Great Egret, Green Sandpiper [North Pit], 2 Little Ringed Plover, Ruff (m), Egyptian Goose [Jubilee North], 3 Ringed Plover, 2 Dunlin, 2 Green Sandpiper, Pintail, Lesser Whitethroat, 4 Snipe [Jubilee South], 2 Ruff (f/juv) [West Scrape], Peregrine [Dosthill NR] (S Atkinson, S Pick).
Ladywalk NR (WMBC Members only) - Possible Spotted Crake calling for 2-3 mins from dense reeds North end of Pool B at 13:40 (P Sofley, JLA).
KWP Cliff Pool - 2 Ruff (f/juv) & Common Sandpiper. Ruff came from and returned to the North so probably the 2 Middleton birds.

18th September

The colour ringed juvenile Common Tern that's been on Jubilee for the last 4 days at least is right leg red over metal and left leg green with two digits (not been able to read). Bird has not travelled far as looks like the ringing scheme is birds from Warwickshire.
