Tomorrow, Saturday 8th, is the West Midlands Autumn All Day Bird Race. The RSPB Middleton running total will appear here and be updated hourly. I intend to start at 7am in the car park so please feel free to join us at any stage during the day. RSPB Middleton (Staffs) - Garganey [Jubilee], 2 Water Rail [Fishers Mill] (J&P Fincham), Pintail [Canal Scrape], Great White Egret, Ruff, Ringed Plover, 2 Egyptian Geese [Jubilee Wetlands], Little Ringed Plover, 6 Snipe [West Scrape] & 2 Egyptian Geese [Dosthill NR] (S Atkinson), Tonight Pintail and Ruff numbers had doubled to 2 a piece and Dunlin plus Common Sandpiper - all on Jubilee.
Alvecote - Lesser Spotted Woodpecker [Orchard Pretty Pigs Pool] (A Powell).

Additional birds tonight - Common Sandpiper, 2 Little Ringed Plover, [Jubilee], Garganey [North Pit].
RSPB Middleton (Warks) - 4 Wigeon [Fishers Mill].
Old Warks Moors (Staffs) - 5 Spotted Flycatcher along the River Anker (S Allison).
Alvecote - Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Spotted Flycatcher [Orchard], 2 Little Egret, Wigeon [Mill Pool] (M Scott).

The colour ringed juvenile Common Tern that's been on Jubilee for the last 4 days at least is right leg red over metal and left leg green with two digits (not been able to read). Bird has not travelled far as looks like the ringing scheme is birds from Warwickshire.
