RSPB Middleton (Staffs) - Great Egret, 2 Green Sandpiper, 2 Snipe [North Pit], 2 Dunlin, 2 Green Sandpiper, Ringed Plover [East Scrape], 4 Egyptian Geese, Meadow Pipit [Jubilee Wetlands], Tawny Owl calling [Dosthill NR] (S Atkinson).

RSPB Middleton (Staffs) - Osprey through South (RSPB), 5 Pintail, Great Egret [Jubilee North], Greenshank [Canal Scrape], Dunlin, Ringed Plover, 3 Green Sandpiper, 2 Ruff [East Scrape]. Only 14 Little Egret roosted with the Great Egret.
Ladywalk NR (WMBC Members only) - Hobby and Marsh Tit (P Lichfield).
Alvecote - 2 Hobby & 3 Snipe (M Scott & R Smith).

20th September

RSPB Middleton (Staffs) - CATTLE EGRET attempted to land with the Longhorn but simultaneously the majority of wildfowl flushed and Egret headed South West in the direction of Middleton Hall. Also on the reserve Great Egret, Green Sandpiper [North Pit], 2 Little Ringed Plover, Ruff (m), Egyptian Goose [Jubilee North], 3 Ringed Plover, 2 Dunlin, 2 Green Sandpiper, Pintail, Lesser Whitethroat, 4 Snipe [Jubilee South], 2 Ruff (f/juv) [West Scrape], Peregrine [Dosthill NR] (S Atkinson, S Pick).
Ladywalk NR (WMBC Members only) - Possible Spotted Crake calling for 2-3 mins from dense reeds North end of Pool B at 13:40 (P Sofley, JLA).
KWP Cliff Pool - 2 Ruff (f/juv) & Common Sandpiper. Ruff came from and returned to the North so probably the 2 Middleton birds.

18th September

Ladywalk NR (WMBC Members only) - Garganey, Common Tern, Common Sandpiper, Green Sandpiper, Hobby & Fulvous Whistling Duck on the river (P Softley, P Lichfield).
RSPB Middleton (Staffs) - 2 Ruff, 10 Ringed Plover, Little Ringed Plover, 5 Dunlin, 20+ Little Egret and possible Wood Sandpiper dropped onto East Scrape (RSPB).

16th September

Alvecote Teal Pool Area - Whinchat (A Archer).
RSPB Middleton (Staffs) - Dunlin, 2 Ruff, 2 Ringed Plover & Green Sandpiper (A Hyde).

Goshawk reported in the lookout logbook yesterday - can anyone confirm sighting.

15th September

RSPB Middleton (Staffs) - Great White Egret, 3 Ruff, 2 Little Ringed Plover, Ringed Plover, Peregrine, Green Sandpiper & 2 Egyptian Geese (S Atkinson).

RSPB Middleton (Staffs) - 3 Ruff, 3 Pintail, 2 Ringed Plover, 2 Egyptian Geese, 6 Snipe, Peregrine & Green Sandpiper (A Bladon).
Ladywalk NR (WMBC Members only) - Hobby, Green Sandpiper, Common Sandpiper, Snipe, Siskin & 4 Little Egret (S Cawthray, P Lichfield).
Alvecote - Hobby, 2 Little Egret & Snipe (M Scott).

Alvecote - 3 Little Egret & Snipe (M Scott).

Cattle Egret recorded in the logbook on JW with the Longhorns at 11am so spent at least 3.5 hours on the reserve today flying out South at 2.33pm (S Atkinson)
